I’m always in awe of new moms. This sweet fam was gifted their session by a family member, and they were only in town for a few days for the holidays, so we literally managed to fit their session in the day they arrived. They’d traveled through most of the night with a six week old and not gotten in until 3 am, so I was amazed how well rested everyone seemed, and this little guy was just the absolute sweetest. Awake and curious and just so aware of his surroundings. He sure made my job easy.
Some people have asked what the window for newborn photos is, and the reality is, it’s okay to document this season whenever you’re ready. Whether it’s six days postpartum, or six weeks, the precious fleeting newborn days are so worth documenting. So if you’re past the normal two week window for newborn photos, don’t feel like you’ve lost your chance! I honestly love documenting this age because they’ve filled out a little bit more and are just so aware and curious. Their little personalities are really starting to shine at 6 weeks.
And of course, we just had to get some photos of this little guy under the tree for his very first Christmas.
